Christmas Decorations

As the holiday season rolls around again, it’s time to take down the Christmas decorations and reminisce. Each ornament has its own family history and memories, so it takes time to decorate.

I have ornaments left from childhood and from my early adulthood. The first few ornaments I bought on my own were a small set of blown-glass houses that always make me smile. They look pinkish in this photo because of the Christmas lights, but they’re really a lovely pale green.

I also have various ornaments related to my writing, like cowboy paraphernalia and chili peppers.

And then there are the quirky ornaments I just can’t seem to stop collecting: strange and interesting things that somehow strike a chord.

And let’s not forget that modern classic: the pickle you hide somewhere in the tree!
