2021 Reading Challenge

I found a reading challenge online and decided to make one of my own. The one I found assumed that one book a month would be a good average — in the immortal words of Nero Wolfe, “phooey!” I usually read a book every three or four days if I’m not working, at least one a week if I’m busy with other things. I have challenged myself to two books a month and have already started with the three books I’ve read this week.

So here is my 2021 Reading Challenge:

  2. A book you’ve read before:
  3. A book currently on the bestseller list:
  4. A book published before you were born:
  5. A book you previously abandoned:
  6. A book by an author who is new to you: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab
  7. A classic you didn’t read in school:
  8. A book nominated for an award:
  9. A book recommended by someone with great taste:
  10. A book published the decade you were born:
  11. A book by a local author:
  12. A book set somewhere you’d like to visit:
  13. A debut novel:
  14. A book from your childhood:
  15. A book outside your (genre) comfort zone:
  16. A book by a favorite author: An Obvious Fact by Craig Johnson
  17. A book about something you already love:
