I’ve been browsing Amazon Prime lately, and found an older Agatha Christie remake, with Angela Lansbury (yes, “Jessica Fletcher” from Murder, She Wrote!) playing Miss Marple.
Of course, it’s also got Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, and a bunch of other stars, but who’s counting?
This is the story where the famous movie star comes to St. Mary Mead & a silly local woman gets murdered, seemingly by mistake. Miss Marple sees through the haze, of course, and soon nabs the real killer. I like Angela Lansbury. She’s been a good actress all her life, and this movie is no exception. If you like Dame Agatha, this is a good adaptation, and if you like Angela, you can’t go wrong watching this one.
