New Historical Anthology

I’m working on a new historical story that’s sort of a collaboration between JES Hays and EJ Murray. It’s a “weird history” detective story, with one of the velyr who works as a private investigator back in the 1800s. He’s on the trail of a badman fleeing justice in old Savannah, so I get to include lots of great historical details and EJ gets to include the weirdness with the aliens and maybe even some steampunk elements.

Haven’t heard back from the other anthologies as yet, which may be a good thing or may not. Sometimes you just never hear about your story, not even a form rejection. I think that’s rudeness on the part of the editor, but…

Hopefully some story will sell this year. I’m trying not to get discouraged but it’s hard when you keep butting your head against a brick wall.
