I’m working on the science fiction novel at the moment, but I thought I’d share some of the varied things writers have to look up to make a good story.
- Common names for people from various countries – I’ve got band members and staff to name
- How a recording studio works – and the band is in the studio
- Things to do in downtown Atlanta – that’s where the studio is
- Things that don’t mean what you think they mean in Ireland – one of my main characters in the new story is Irish
- The Hyatt hotel, downtown Atlanta – where the band is staying
Writers are curious beasts anyway, and when you toss a novel into the mix, you’ve got someone whose browser history should probably be erased before anyone else gets the wrong idea!
